Managing subcontractors

Some manufacturing companies rely on subcontractors for their production.

When managing subcontracts, following situations can occur:

• the work in progress product must be transported to the subcontractor
• a subcontractor produces an important component of the product and it is necessary to synchronize production to minimize downtime

For effective management, subcontracts need to be properly planned and recorded.

In the OFFISEEK platform, subcontracts can be planned on the product detail in the Subcontracts tab. The production manager puts down a list of subcontracts from individual subcontractors and the dates when the subcontracts are expected to be implemented.

If the product is at a subcontractor, the production manager checks the At subcontractor option, which allows you to view all products that are in progress at subcontractors. Some manufacturing facilities may have dozens of products in progress and need to differentiate them in the production plan.
